SPARC is a charitable organization which addresses the needs of young adults with severe and multiple disabilities, who have aged out of the special ed support provided by the K-12 system and have fallen though the gaping hole in the social safety net.
SPARC’s population is medically fragile and lacks self-care and social skills, effective verbal communication, and basic physical mobility. They need 24/7 direct care support with daily activities and are unable to work with few opportunities to interact with their peers.
As Justin Dolan, a SPARC participant said, “Before SPARC I felt I had aged out of life when I turned 22.”
